Bandai Spirits' prize division, BANPRESTO, has just dropped its latest addition to the "Chinzasou" figure line—a series known for its cool-yet-cute stylized sitting monsters. Released on April 28, 2026, the newest prize figure from the world of "Monster Hunter" is the formidable Nargacuga ~The Jet-Black Shadow~.
The fan-favorite monster Nargacuga first stalked onto the scene in 2008's "Monster Hunter Freedom Unite." A fearsome fusion of a black panther and a bat, this Flying Wyvern thrives in dense, lush forests. While sensitive to light, its hearing is exceptionally sharp. Cunning and aggressive by nature, its ferocity skyrockets when enraged, signaled by its iconic glowing red eyes. Though classified as a Flying Wyvern, its body is covered in jet-black fur, allowing it to completely vanish into the darkness to ambush its prey. When it attacks, its agile body is a blur of motion, leaping and weaving through the trees with elusive speed. Its sharp blade-wings can slice through giant trees, its powerful tail can shatter bone, and it can even launch deadly spikes to snipe targets from a distance.
The "Chinzasou" Nargacuga ~The Jet-Black Shadow~ figure captures the monster in a super-deformed, chibi style, standing approximately 11cm (4.3 inches) tall. The sculpt depicts the Nargacuga in a tense, lurking pose, ready to strike.
