Bandai Spirits' prize figure brand, Banpresto, has just announced a new addition to its 'Chinzasou' line—a series of stylized, seated monster vinyl figures that blend cool with cute. The latest release comes straight from "Godzilla Minus One": the "Godzilla (2023) Artillery Impact Color Ver.", slated for a September 2026 release.
The Godzilla (2023) featured in "Godzilla Minus One" was originally a 15-meter-tall, dinosaur-like ancient creature dwelling in the deep seas around Odo Island, known to locals as "Gojira." However, following the post-WWII US nuclear tests near Bikini Atoll in 1946, the creature mutated into the 50-meter-tall kaiju, Godzilla. It possesses incredible regenerative abilities, allowing it to instantly heal from naval artillery fire, and can unleash a devastatingly powerful Heat Ray from its mouth, comparable to a nuclear blast.
The "Chinzasou Godzilla (2023) Artillery Impact Color Ver." is a new color variant based on the "Godzilla (2023) Ver. 2" released in 2024. This version features new orange and yellow paint applications on its chest, shoulders, and other areas to replicate its appearance during the Ginza attack scene, where it was bombarded by Type 4 Chi-To medium tanks. The figure stands at 12cm tall, capturing Godzilla's rock-like, rugged skin texture and powerful musculature within its stylized, super-deformed proportions.
