TAKARA TOMY's high-end toy brand T-SPARK, known for its robot-themed finished toy series "TOYRISE", has teased a new product from the classic "Getter Robo" franchise. The upcoming Robot Toy, tentatively named "Getter Robo", is currently in development, with more details expected to be unveiled shortly.
In the classic "Getter Robo" TV anime, the titular Getter Robo is piloted by high school students Ryoma Nagare, Hayato Jin, and Musashi Tomoe. Originally a colossal machine built by scientist Dr. Saotome for space development, it's formed by the dynamic combination of three individual Getter Machines: the Getter Eagle, Getter Jaguar, and Getter Bear. Depending on their unique configurations, these jets can combine into three distinct forms: the aerial combat specialist "Getter-1", the subterranean explorer "Getter-2", and the aquatic "Getter-3". Each form boasts entirely different performance characteristics and weaponry.
So far, only development silhouettes of the Getter Eagle, Getter Jaguar, and Getter Bear have been unveiled for the "TOYRISE Getter Robo (tentative name)". While the designs appear to feature bold TOYRISE-style reinterpretations of the original anime look, glimpses of the transformation mechanisms are already visible. This builds excitement for how the final product will achieve a seamless, parts-swapping-free complete transformation and combination into all three Getter-1, Getter-2, and Getter-3 forms.
