Megahouse, a Japanese toy company, has announced the latest addition to its "Ultimate Article" series of large-scale light-up statues, featuring "Ultraman Tiga (Multi-Type) Battle Image Color Edition" from the tokusatsu series "Ultraman Tiga," slated for release in October 2026.
In the lore, Ultraman Tiga is an ancient "Giant of Light" who protected Earth 30 million years ago. After defeating the Dark Lord, his body turned to stone, slumbering within a pyramid deep in the mountains. 30 million years later, he merged with GUTS member Daigo Madoka to once again combat the Dark Evil God Gatanothor, who sought to destroy civilization. This series was groundbreaking for introducing the concept of form changes, allowing Tiga to switch between the balanced Multi-Type, the speed and skill-focused Sky-Type, and the strength and endurance-specialized Power-Type.
The "Ultimate Article Ultraman Tiga (Multi-Type) Battle Image Color Edition" is an updated version of the previously released standard edition. Its overall sculpt was supervised by Tsuburaya Productions' LSS sculpting division, faithfully recreating the sharp, heroic suit details and the physique of suit actor Shunsuke Gondo from the show. This particular edition features a completely redesigned paint application. Beyond reducing the overall gloss to better convey the suit's texture, it incorporates rich shading, highlights, and weathering effects to give the sculpt a more realistic and three-dimensional appearance, enhancing the sense of Tiga being actively engaged in battle.
The sound and light features remain consistent with previous releases. A switch on the base allows for two distinct modes. In Mode 1, the statue emits the iconic "Spark Lens" transformation sound effect and illuminates Tiga's eyes and Color Timer. Mode 2 transitions the Color Timer into its flashing red "emergency" state, and after approximately 30 seconds, it plays the sound effect for his signature finisher, the "Zeperion Beam." Furthermore, interchangeable hand parts allow for dynamic battle poses and the classic "Zeperion Beam" firing stance.
