Megahouse, a prominent Japanese model manufacturer, has announced the latest addition to its "Ultimate Article" series of large-scale light-up statues based on Tokusatsu properties. The new release, "Shadow Moon" from "Kamen Rider BLACK," is slated for an October 2026 launch.
As the franchise's first villainous Kamen Rider, "Shadow Moon" is the result of the secret organization Gorgom's human experimentation on Kotaro Minami's close friend, Nobuhiko Akizuki. Both his body and personality were forcefully controlled. The King Stone implanted within him signifies his status as a candidate for the Creation King, alongside Kamen Rider BLACK, making him BLACK's ultimate rival. Wielding the powerful, versatile weapon "Satan Saber," usable only by Creation King candidates, Shadow Moon's combat abilities are significantly enhanced, even surpassing BLACK's.
The "Ultimate Article Shadow Moon" statue stands at an imposing 40 cm (approximately 15.7 inches) tall, meticulously sculpted to capture the sci-fi aesthetic and mechanical texture of his head and full silver armor. With interchangeable weapons and hand parts, collectors can display him in three distinct poses: his "signature combat stance," "wielding the Satan Saber," and "dual-wielding Shadow Sabers." The grasshopper leg triggers on the back of his feet can also be manually adjusted up and down.
Furthermore, the Shadow Moon statue features an array of built-in sound and light effects. A switch on the display base allows for two distinct modes. Mode 1 recreates his transformation sound effects along with light-up eyes and belt. Mode 2 plays footsteps, the iconic theme music "M-33T2," and features alternating flashes from his forehead warning light and sensors, perfectly capturing Shadow Moon's powerful entrance pose!
