Mecha Smile has officially revealed the latest entry in its MODEROID model kit line: the "Griffon the Case Files Color Ver." from the new 3D action game, "Patlabor the Case Files". This special edition kit will be bundled exclusively with the special edition of the game.
The Type-J9 Griffon is an experimental combat Labor developed in top secret by the SEJ Tsuchiura Research Institute with a single goal: to be the "ultimate Labor." Its most striking features are its jet-black fuselage and massive twin horns. Developed with a virtually unlimited budget, the machine incorporates cutting-edge technology, boasting power and maneuverability that far surpass other Labors like the Ingram. Its back unit can be swapped between a "Flight Unit" for short-term aerial combat and an "Aqua Unit" for underwater operations. The Griffon is powered by the unique and highly efficient "ASURA" operating system, granting it incredibly fluid, almost biological, movement.
The "MODEROID Griffon the Case Files Color Ver." is based on the previously released standard edition of the kit. It utilizes a new color scheme for its molded parts, along with select pre-painted components, to perfectly replicate the special gray and white livery seen in the game. "Patlabor the Case Files" is an action game that lets players relive iconic moments from the series. During story missions, you can take on the roles of both Special Vehicles Section 2 and their adversaries, piloting famous Labors like the Ingram, Griffon, and Type-Zero in intense combat.
Once assembled, the Griffon stands approximately 13cm tall. This 1/60 scale kit captures the Labor's sleek, imposing silhouette and intricate mechanical details. The model boasts impressive articulation, from its massive, twin-winged Flight Unit to its uniquely sealed joint structures. A variety of interchangeable hand parts are also included, allowing collectors to recreate a wide range of powerful and dynamic poses.
