The MODEROID model kit series, presented by Japan's MECHA SMILE brand, has announced its latest release: the "NIKICK Standard Type (General Soldier Type)" from the classic robot anime "Super Dimension Century Orguss," slated for release in January 2027.
The MBG-24 NIKICK is the latest combat device deployed by the Chiram Army in the series. It comes in two specifications: the "Commander Type (C-Type)" as a preliminary prototype, and the "General Soldier Type (A-Type)," which is a simplified version based on the former. Developed as a decisive weapon to counter the combat machine-lifeform nation "Mu," this unit was the first to adopt an "Inertia Control System," significantly mitigating the issue of excessive G-forces on pilots. It also features a three-stage transformation mechanism for flight, low-speed combat, and humanoid combat. Armed with a Charged Particle Beam Cannon and a small Converged Charged Particle Beam Gun, among other weapons, it is capable of operating in both aerial and ground environments.
The "MODEROID NIKICK Standard Type (General Soldier Type)" kit is constructed from multi-colored molded parts, pre-painted parts, and decals. Once assembled, it stands approximately 16 cm tall, boasting a sculpt faithful to the original design and flexible articulation. It can also recreate its three forms—flight, low-speed combat, and humanoid combat—through parts swapping. Its arsenal includes a laser pistol, four missiles, four unmanned reconnaissance drones, and an additional 3-barrel short cannon. All three weapons and the drones can be mounted on the sides of the legs.
