Japanese model maker M.I.Molde's CAVICO brand is set to launch a new addition to its "ChoiPla" (チョイプラ) small-scale model series: the "Rebuild of Evangelion EVANGELION Unit-02" model kit. This adorable new release will have a suggested retail price of 1,870 JPY and is expected to ship in July 2026.
The brand name "CAVICO" is a portmanteau of the molding terms "Cavity" and "Core," embodying the artisan spirit of mold manufacturing. Its flagship "ChoiPla" series focuses on easy assembly and miniature scale, characterized by a unique "MeChaCoRo" two-head-tall design that gives figures charming, large-headed, small-footed proportions. In addition to collaborations with popular IPs like "Armored Trooper VOTOMS," the line also brings original works from independent creators to life as commercial products.
After the release of the CHOIPLA EVANGELION Unit-01 last year, fans have eagerly awaited a new "Rebuild of Evangelion" themed product, and it's finally here! This ChoiPla EVA Unit-02 model kit comprises 28 parts. Despite its small completed height of approximately 4.8 cm, it perfectly translates Unit-02's "Rebuild of Evangelion" aesthetic into the series' iconic proportions. The typically cool and imposing design is charmingly condensed into a two-head-tall form, offering a delightful contrast to its cinematic presence!
The kit includes a Twin-Bladed Progressive Knife, Pallet Rifle, and Umbilical Cable. Molded in EV-27 EVA red plastic, this model invites collectors to unleash their creativity and paint it to achieve their own unique Unit-02 aesthetic!
