BANDAI HOBBY, the plastic model division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd., has announced the latest addition to its highly diverse 1/144 scale Gunpla "HG (High Grade)" series: the "HG 1/144 Gyan (Hakuji Equipment)" from "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX." This new kit is set for a September 2026 release, with pre-orders opening on May 15th via Bandai's official online store, Premium Bandai.
The MS-15/H Gyan (Hakuji Equipment) is a close-quarters combat mobile suit developed by the Principality of Zeon military. In contrast to its original "Mobile Suit Gundam" timeline design, the GQ version boasts a reinterpreted knight-armor-like aesthetic by Ikuto Yamashita. Its primary armament has been updated to the "Hakuji Spear," a massive composite weapon that doubles as a thruster. This spear integrates three railguns and propulsion units, allowing for rapid acceleration and the capability to breach electromagnetic shields. Furthermore, the Gyan Shield on its left arm isn't just for defense; it also conceals six "Floating Mines" designed to suppress enemy units.
The "HG 1/144 Gyan (Hakuji Equipment)" kit is a retooling of the previously released Exabe's Custom Gyan. Its exterior armor parts are molded in new purple and black colors, faithfully reproducing the standard mass-production livery. The mobile suit also boasts intricate sculpting, capturing details such as its knight-armor-inspired plating and thigh power pipes. With single-axis elbow articulation, ball-jointed hip joints, and a movable mono-eye monitor, collectors can recreate the Gyan's impressive combat poses from the series.
As for weaponry, the kit includes the massive "Hakuji Spear," which dwarfs the mobile suit itself. The equally imposing "Gyan Shield" can be displayed with its mine launchers deployed. Furthermore, two "Beam Sabers," designed similarly to their main timeline counterparts, are included, allowing for a wide array of dynamic combat poses thanks to the kit's flexible articulation.
