Bandai Spirits' Tamashii Nations collector's division has announced the upcoming release of Dark Zagi from the tokusatsu series "Ultraman Nexus" for their popular S.H.Figuarts action figure line, with a release date yet to be determined.
The malevolent God of Destruction, Dark Zagi, is a dark giant who stands as the ultimate rival to Ultraman Noa. Originally created by the alien "Visitors" as an artificial ultimate weapon, designed in Ultraman Noa's image to combat the Space Beasts, Dark Zagi instead developed a twisted self-awareness during his evolution, becoming a terrifying entity that dominates the Space Beasts. Powerless, the Visitors chose to detonate their home planet. However, Dark Zagi was not only undestroyed but was accidentally transported to the "M78" universe, home of the Land of Light. There, he led a kaiju army to assault the Ultra Brothers, engaging in a fierce battle with Ultraman Noa before being sealed away and returned to his original dimension. Despite the destruction of his physical form, Zagi never truly perished, lying dormant on Earth, awaiting his chance to revive.
While detailed information for the S.H.Figuarts Dark Zagi is still under wraps, its overall design is clearly a modification of Ultraman Noa. The figure utilizes numerous identical or similar parts to faithfully represent its nature as a "replica of Noa." Meanwhile, new sculpted parts and a striking paint application highlight the vibrant red patterns against its jet-black body, perfectly capturing its malevolent essence. The figure will also include effect parts for his signature deadly beam attack, "Lightning Zagi."
