Japanese model manufacturer Megahouse is expanding its "VARIABLE ACTION KIT" series, a line of semi-assembled model kits derived from the popular "VARIABLE ACTION" series. The latest additions, slated for release in late October 2026, are the "Geara Doga (General Type)" and "Geara Doga (Commander Type)", both hailing from the "Mobile Suit Gundam MS Chronicle" universe.
The AMS-119 Geara Doga originally served as the primary mass-produced mobile suit for the Neo Zeon forces led by Char Aznable during the "Second Neo Zeon War." Designed with the high versatility, ease of operation, and simple maintenance concepts of the first-generation Zaku II in mind, this formidable machine was developed based on the second-generation masterpiece, the Marasai. It comes equipped with standard armaments such as a beam machine gun, beam hawk, and shield, boasting performance on par with the Earth Federation Forces' mass-produced Jegan of the era. However, the VAKIT release focuses on a heavily armored Geara Doga (Ground Combat Heavy Armament Type), which makes its debut in Kazuhisa Kondo's "Mobile Suit Gundam MS Chronicle" manga series, featuring significantly enhanced armor and firepower.
Upon assembly, the "VAKIT Geara Doga" stands approximately 15 cm tall, striking a dynamic fixed pose. While the mono-eye camera is pre-painted, all other parts are molded in a resin-like earth-yellow color, providing an excellent base for custom painting. The intricate sculpting beautifully captures the weighty feel of the thick armor and the characteristic curved armor lines synonymous with Zeon mobile suits. Furthermore, the armor surface can be enhanced with included water-slide decals to replicate standard markings and battle-worn scratch details. Collectors will also appreciate the option to swap the front skirt armor between a standard part and one featuring a "Zimmerit anti-magnetic coating" texture, complete with a molding roller to accurately reproduce the Zimmerit coating's unique pattern.
The primary differences between the General Type and Commander Type kits lie in their distinct head sculpts and weapon loadouts. The General Type includes two types of machine guns, two sets of Sturm Fausts, and a stored Beam Hawk, while the Commander Type comes with a large machine gun, two sets of Sturm Fausts, and a stored Beam Hawk.
