Japan's official Gunpla flagship store, GUNDAM BASE, recently showcased the prototype for their latest exclusive item, the "HG 1/144 Z'Gok (SEED FREEDOM Ver.) [Clear Color]", from "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM". It is scheduled for release in July 2026 at various GUNDAM BASE locations.
The "Z'Gok" appearing in the film, while bearing a resemblance to the original Gundam series version, is actually the "ZGMF-X191M2 Infinite Justice Gundam Type-II" in disguise. This mobile suit is an upgraded version of Athrun's previous unit, the "Infinite Justice Gundam," incorporating the latest technology from Morgenroete. It features an all-around monitor cockpit, VPS armor, and more. The exterior armor details have also been significantly revamped, with a large beam horn added to its head for surprise attacks, and its backpack replaced with the new "M2X32E VOLANTES" propulsion unit. However, since this unit utilizes a nuclear power engine that violates the Junius Treaty, it must operate discreetly, disguised as a Z'Gok.
The "HG 1/144 Z'Gok (SEED FREEDOM Ver.) [Clear Color]" is based on the previously released standard version kit. The showcased prototype reveals adjusted molding colors for the mobile suit's parts, with all red armor sections replaced by clear red and clear pink molding, creating a unique appearance that allows glimpses of the internal frame. The entire kit incorporates the "SEED Action System," designed to replicate classic poses from the Gundam SEED series, featuring accordion-like structures in the arms and legs, along with a highly articulated torso joint.
It also comes with accessories such as the new "M2X32E VOLANTES" propulsion unit, battle-damaged head replacement parts, beam effect parts for the wings, and more. By combining it with the separately sold "HG 1/144 Infinite Justice Gundam Type-II" or "HG 1/144 Infinite Justice Gundam Type-II [Clear Color]," you can recreate the Gundam's appearance hidden within the Z'Gok's upper body.
