BANDAI HOBBY, a model kit brand under Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS, recently showcased the latest prototype for the "NZ-666 Kshatriya" from "Mobile Suit Gundam UC" at the 64th Shizuoka Hobby Show. This new addition to the "MGSD (MASTER GRADE SD)" series, which combines MG series technology with SD Gundam proportions, is slated for release in September 2026.
The NZ-666 Kshatriya is a Newtype-use mobile suit operated by the Neo Zeon remnant group, "The Sleeves." It is piloted by the Enhanced Human, Marida Cruz (Ple Twelve). This mobile suit is derived from the 40-meter-class Quin Mantha, developed in Universal Century 0088. Utilizing miniaturization technology, the Kshatriya condenses various high-firepower armaments and a Psycoframe into a 20-meter frame. Its four large binders, which surround its body, function as both shields and high-output thrusters, and house a total of 24 Funnels. The main body's chest also features a powerful Mega Particle Cannon.
From the prototype on display, it's clear the "MGSD Kshatriya" is assembled with a rich array of molded colors, including dark green, light green, white, black, silver, and yellow. Some parts even utilize "realistic metallic gloss injection" technology to achieve a more authentic metallic texture. Through precise part separation, the model faithfully recreates The Sleeves' emblem on the chest and arms, as well as the intricate mechanical structures of the internal frame and power pipes, delivering MG-level high-density detailing in an SD scale.
Notably, the four large binders surrounding the mobile suit feature multi-layered frame and armor structures. The silver inner sections of the thruster nozzles are separately molded parts and can rotate in multiple directions thanks to multi-axis movable joints. In terms of gimmicks, the kit not only reproduces the hidden sub-arms capable of wielding beam sabers but also includes an armor deployment mechanism that reveals the internal Funnel racks. When fully deployed, the Kshatriya achieves an even more imposing visual presence.
