BANDAI SPIRITS' TAMASHII NATIONS collector's division, known for its 'ROBOT Damashii' line of robot-themed posable action figures, has announced the upcoming release of the latest product from the novel "Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack - Beltorchika's Children": the "Nightingale ~Exclusive Edition~," slated for October 2026.
The mobile suit "MSN-04II Nightingale," piloted by Commander Char Aznable, appears exclusively in the novel version, serving as the counterpart to the anime's "MSN-04 Sazabi." Designed as an enhanced evolution of the Sazabi, the Nightingale boasts a significantly larger frame, equipped with numerous high-thrust verniers and five large propellant tanks, drastically boosting its mobility and operational range. Its massive shoulders house 10 Funnels, while the skirt armor conceals hidden arms capable of surprise attacks with Beam Sabers. Furthermore, it carries heavy beam weaponry, including a Large Mega Beam Rifle, a Diffuse Mega Particle Cannon in its abdomen, and a Beam Tomahawk.
The "ROBOT Damashii Nightingale ~Exclusive Edition~" is an updated version of the standard release from 2019. The entire mobile suit features two distinct shades of matte red paint, perfectly capturing Char's iconic personal colors. The interiors of the thrusters and hydraulic cylinders are finished with metallic paint, creating a contrasting texture against the armor. Over 80 printed markings across the suit have also been redesigned, including warning lines, numbering, and the golden Neo Zeon emblem, enhancing the Nightingale's realistic depiction as a weapon.
This impressive figure boasts a substantial size, standing approximately 165mm tall, spanning 400mm wide, and measuring 310mm deep. Its excellent articulation allows for dynamic leg kicks, and pull-out joints in the wrists enable more natural gun-wielding poses. The bases of the stabilizers, ankle joints, and hip joints are constructed with die-cast metal, enhancing joint strength and providing a satisfying heft during play.
The main unit also incorporates several features to boost playability, including a transformation mechanism for its "High-Speed Movement Mode," deployable auxiliary arms hidden within the skirt armor, and an opening gimmick for the abdominal "Diffuse Mega Particle Cannon" firing port. In addition to its arsenal of a Beam Tomahawk, Beam Saber, Large Mega Beam Rifle, and shield, each Funnel part can be detached to recreate its firing state.
