Japanese manufacturer GECCO, known for its exquisite video game-themed releases, has announced a Big Bad Toy Store (BBTS) exclusive new Hellboy collectible: the "Hellboy (Anung Un Rama Ver.) Limited Edition" 1/6 scale statue. Priced at $384.99, it's slated for a December 2026 release!
Hellboy is a classic creation by American comic artist Mike Mignola, first appearing in 1993. The story follows a small red demon accidentally summoned during a Nazi black magic experiment at the end of World War II. He was adopted by Allied theologian Professor Trevor Bruttenholm, who arrived to thwart the Nazi plans, and named "Hellboy." As an adult, with the support of the United States, he joined the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense (B.P.R.D.), becoming their strongest asset against evil spirits and Nazi remnants.
This approximately 39 cm (15.35 inches) tall statue is meticulously crafted to capture Hellboy in his iconic "Anung Un Rama" form, embracing his true demonic heritage. It brings to life the character's powerful yet minimalist geometric body design from the comics. The sculpt faithfully recreates the terrifyingly long horns that have regrown on his head, and the sacred sword clutched in his left hand, along with the pouch on his waist, are all intricately detailed. The exquisite paint application further enhances the rich color details. Furthermore, the base incorporates the iconic "frog" motif, an indispensable visual element from Mignola's artwork, elevating the overall intricacy to another level.
