BushiCap!, Bushiroad's dedicated capsule toy brand, has officially unveiled its latest collection: the "Shinkage Roku" capsule toy series. This new lineup brings to life the captivating designs from the "Shinkage Roku" universe, which features unique Japanese spirit monsters. The series will launch with four distinct figures, each priced at 500 JPY per turn, with an anticipated release in September 2026.
The "Shinkage Roku" series, created by Japanese CG artist efu, delves into a fictional world rooted in Japan's animistic polytheistic beliefs, where all things are thought to possess spirits. In this lore, humanity's destruction of nature caused nameless spirits, once residing in mountains and rivers, to lose their homes and power, transforming into grotesque monsters known as Shinkage. These terrifying entities were subsequently driven away by humans and eventually vanished without a trace. This forgotten history, never mentioned in folklore or mythology, exists only as fragmented records in ancient texts. However, recent years have seen increasing sightings of unknown creatures in mountainous regions and near human settlements, bearing striking resemblances to the Shinkage described in these old documents. The "Shinkage Roku" project aims to document their images and sounds, though their true purpose and intentions remain an enigma. Are they the mournful cries of forgotten deities, or perhaps the embodiment of nature's wrath against humanity?
The BushiCap! "Shinkage Roku" capsule toy series features four distinct Shinkage, numbered 001 through 004. Collectors can look forward to the unsettling Muganroku, a faceless, deer-like creature that ambles on all fours; Ken i, a monstrous entity with the body of an ox, a human head, and four tentacles emerging from its mouth; Kisen, a colossal cicada sporting a human face on its back; and Kuzou, a cave-dwelling beast that eerily resembles a wooden statue. Ranging from 65 to 120 mm in height, each figure meticulously captures the Shinkage's horrifying aesthetics. Beyond the intricate, biological textures and details, the paint application masterfully enhances their eerie and terrifying aura, making them a truly compelling addition to any collection. For those eager to delve deeper into the lore of these mysterious Shinkage, more detailed information is available on the official website.
