Japanese model manufacturer Kotobukiya has officially announced the latest entry in its popular Megami Device line of customizable, articulated "bishoujo" model kits. Get ready for the "PUNI☆MOFU Racing Rabbit with Honda Z50J-1 Monkey," slated for a December 2026 release.
This exciting new release is a collaboration between Kotobukiya's Megami Device line and Aoshima Bunka Kyozai's 1/12 scale model of the Honda Z50J-1 Monkey '78. The "PUNI☆MOFU Rabbit," designed by Japanese illustrator BLADE, utilizes the compact "Machinica Block2-S" base body for a cuter, shorter stature. While her appearance may seem gentle, she's a fully capable fighter. This version sports a brand-new, original black and orange color scheme, giving her the sharp look of a professional racer.
In addition to the new molded colors, the "PUNI☆MOFU Racing Rabbit" comes with pre-painted "crisp" and "smiling" face plates, both featuring new olive-green eyes that perfectly complement the kit's color scheme. Accessories include a helmet and three pairs of interchangeable plastic hands. The highly flexible articulation of the Block2-S body allows for a wide range of dynamic and cute poses, including realistically riding the motorcycle.
The included 1/12 scale Honda Z50J-1 Monkey '78 kit also sports the matching black and orange original colors. This model meticulously recreates the iconic 1978 Z50J-1 version of the Honda Monkey, with detailed sculpting on the engine, suspension system, and lights. Flexible plastic is used to replicate the various tubes and wiring. Please note that plastic model cement (sold separately) is required to assemble the Honda Monkey kit.
