Renowned poster design and toy company MONDO has announced an exciting new addition to their lineup: a limited edition "Batgirl" 1/6 scale action figure, inspired by the classic "Batman: The Animated Series." This highly anticipated collectible is priced at $235 and is currently available for pre-order on the MONDO Shop official website, with an estimated shipping date of October 2026!
Batgirl made her iconic debut in the animated series during Season 1, Episode 57, titled "Shadow of the Bat: Part I." The episode introduced Barbara Gordon, Commissioner Gordon's daughter, who sought to clear her father's name after he was framed and imprisoned. When Batman declined her request to attend a rally supporting her father, Barbara took matters into her own hands. She donned a Batgirl costume and appeared at the rally herself, aiming to draw public attention to the injustice. After successfully defusing the situation, she officially embraced her role as Batgirl, becoming a masked hero who, alongside Batman and Robin, protected Gotham City.
This 1/6 scale action figure stands approximately 10.5 inches (26.6 cm) tall, meticulously sculpted to capture Barbara's transformation into Batgirl. Her cape is crafted from soft plastic, allowing for dynamic posing. The entire figure features a flat, cel-shaded paint application that perfectly replicates the distinct two-dimensional style of the animated series, highlighting the contrast between her royal blue suit and the signature deep black shadows. Even her vibrant lip color is exquisitely rendered. The figure comes packed with accessories, including three interchangeable Batgirl expression head sculpts, one Barbara Gordon head sculpt, a long hair accessory, six pairs of interchangeable hands, both draped and dynamic flowing cape pieces, a Batarang, a wired Batarang, an open grappling gun, a weighted Bat-rope, a spray paint can, binoculars, and even a teddy bear. A dedicated display stand ensures stable posing for a wide array of dynamic scenes. Collectors can also pair her with previously released Batman and Clayface figures to recreate memorable moments from the show!
