Rumors have long circulated that Marvel Studios is quietly scouting for a new actor to take on the mantle of the "new Black Panther." The current leading contender is British actor Damson Idris, known for "Snowfall" and his upcoming F1 racing film. He previously appeared in leaked concept art for a future "Avengers" installment, depicted as an alternate universe version of T'Challa. His recent appearance alongside "Black Panther" cast members at a Vogue World fashion show has led many to believe Marvel is gradually increasing his public profile.

However, the reputable Marvel news site The Cosmic Circus recently reported that while Idris is indeed one of Marvel's targets, they are also still keeping an eye on other actors. These include John David Washington (pictured left above), son of Denzel Washington, and Lakeith Stanfield (pictured right above).
The Cosmic Circus added that Marvel is also considering Stanfield for a different, currently undisclosed role, described only as "blue-themed." Beyond the Black Panther casting, another prominent industry scooper, MyTimeToShineHello, claims that Marvel has also recently been actively pursuing Rebecca Ferguson to join the MCU. While the specific role remains unmentioned, it is reportedly a significant, major character.
