As the release date for the 20th-anniversary film, "New Movie Version Sgt. Frog: Earth's Great Crisis After Revival!", draws near, Bandai Spirits' Hobby Division in Japan has unveiled several themed products under its High Grade (HG) robot model kit series! This article introduces the "HG New Tamama Robo," priced at 3,080 JPY and slated for release in January 2027.
The new film, "New Movie Version Sgt. Frog: Earth's Great Crisis After Revival!", marks a 16-year return to the big screen. Featuring the familiar original production team, with Yuichi Fukuda as screenwriter and general director, and Fumiaki Tachizaki as director, the movie aims to once again unleash the Keroro Platoon's antics upon the anime world! Beyond their daily lives residing with the Hinata family, this installment introduces new invaders causing a massive commotion, forcing the Keroro Platoon to mobilize once more—perhaps even to protect the Blue Star (Earth)?
The "HG New Tamama Robo" model kit faithfully recreates the mobile weapon utilized by Private Second Class Tamama, appearing as an enlarged, armored version of Tamama himself. This new design makes its debut with the "Keroro Action System," allowing for a wide range of dynamic poses. It comes packed with accessories including clear beam saber effect parts, a shield, a rifle, and a battle axe. The weaponized backpack on its back can even transform into a gigantic, articulated hand, and can combine with other platoon members' machines for an ultimate backpack fusion—a clear incentive to collect the entire set! Furthermore, the Tamama figure included with the "Sgt. Frog Model Kit Tamama Robo Mk-II," released years ago, can be placed inside this new product's cockpit. It's truly irresistible!
