The "Ocean's Eleven" prequel, which has been in development since 2022, recently saw new progress. Renowned entertainment journalist Daniel Richtman revealed on his Patreon page that Brazilian actor Wagner Moura, who earned an Oscar nomination this year for "O Agente Secreto," is currently being eyed for the villain role but has not yet officially signed on.
Last year, it was reported that Cannes Best Actor winner Benicio del Toro was in talks for the villain, but it now appears del Toro has exited the project, with Moura potentially stepping in. The casting choices of Moura and del Toro suggest the production is specifically seeking a Latin American male actor for the part.

The "Ocean's Eleven" prequel is set to star Bradley Cooper and Margot Robbie, with Cooper also directing.
The film is set in the 1960s, matching the era of the original 1960 "Ocean's Eleven" movie. Robbie and Cooper are expected to portray the parents of master thieves Danny Ocean and Debbie Ocean — the parents of the core protagonists played by George Clooney and Sandra Bullock in the previous four films. Carrie Solomon, known for writing the Netflix romantic comedy "A Family Affair," penned the latest draft of the script.
