Bandai's Gashapon division is rolling out a new product themed after the iconic virtual pet, "Tamagotchi"—the "Tamagotchi Plush Mascot" capsule toy series! Each try will cost 500 JPY, with a scheduled release for the third week of June 2026.

Tamagotchi, first launched by Bandai in 1996, is a legendary line of handheld digital pets. The name itself is a portmanteau of the Japanese words for egg (たまご, Tamago) and watch (ウォッチ, Watch). Upon its debut, it sparked a global virtual pet phenomenon, becoming one of the most iconic toys of the late '90s and early 2000s and a cherished childhood memory for countless collectors. Last year's release of "Tamagotchi Paradise" has even reignited the digital pet craze!

This "Tamagotchi Plush Mascot" collection brings several of the series' most popular characters to life as 7cm (approx. 2.75 inches) plush figures. The lineup includes five fan-favorites: Mametchi, Kuchipatchi, Mimitchi, Oyajitchi, and Marutchi. Each plush perfectly captures the character's rounded shape through careful tailoring, with facial features recreated using detailed embroidery. They're perfect for hanging on your bag for a dose of portable nostalgia! What's even more exciting is that these plush mascots are designed to be paired with the simultaneously released "Tamagotchi Mini Storage Case Mascot Series." You can place your plush inside one of the virtual pet-shaped cases for display on the go, taking the cuteness to a whole new level. You'll definitely want to collect both sets!
