Sony Interactive Entertainment unveiled a brand-new gameplay demonstration for "Marvel's Wolverine" during today's State of Play presentation. The showcase offered players a deeper look at the combat rhythm, narrative presentation, and character roster for Insomniac Games' upcoming PS5 exclusive, which is slated for release on September 15, 2026.

In this latest demonstration, Logan tracks a lead to an area swarming with cybernetically enhanced enemies, attempting to rescue kidnapped "Morlocks," including Leech.

The footage opens with Wolverine initiating his assault via stealth takedowns before diving directly into brutal close-quarters combat. He repeatedly impales enemies with his Adamantium claws, building up a rage meter and showcasing a distinctly more violent and bloody style than seen in the "Marvel's Spider-Man" series.
During the gameplay segment, Jean Grey also makes an appearance, fighting alongside Wolverine. The duo not only battles enemies together but can also execute cooperative finishing moves. However, they fail to prevent the Morlocks from being loaded into a van, leading to a high-speed convoy chase where players will control Wolverine as he leaps between vehicles, utilizing his healing factor to withstand significant damage.

Extended footage also revealed several other prominent characters set to appear in the game, including Sabretooth, Omega Red, Mystique, and Sentinel robots.
From this latest gameplay footage, it's clear that "Marvel's Wolverine" will diverge from Insomniac's previous open-world "Marvel's Spider-Man" titles, adopting a more linear, narrative-driven action game format. While stealth remains an option for players, the core emphasis is distinctly on fast, brutal, and impactful melee combat.
