The MODEROID series of plastic model kits, produced by Japan's MECHA SMILE brand, has announced the latest information for its upcoming product from the anime "Space Runaway Ideon": the "Mini-Transforming Ideon." A release date is yet to be determined.
Ideon is the ultimate weapon, recovered and modified by Earthlings from the ruins of the Sixth Civilization. Its robot form, created by the combination of three machines (A, B, and C), stands an imposing 105 meters tall and weighs 5,650 tons. Powered by the infinite energy "IDE," Ideon demonstrates overwhelming combat capabilities. It can deliver massive physical attacks through close combat alone and is equipped with 16,000 missiles throughout its body, capable of simultaneous multi-directional firing. In the later stages of the story, Ideon gains weapons powered by a "MBH" (Mini Black Hole) as an energy source: the "Ideon Gun," which fires a wave-destroying ray to obliterate vast amounts of surrounding matter, and the "Ideon Sword," which converges long-range beams from its arms into a giant sword powerful enough to cleave a planet in two.
The "MODEROID Mini-Transforming" line focuses on recreating the pre-combination machines from the series in a mini size, and then transforming and combining them into their robot form without any leftover parts. This newly announced "Ideon" release achieves the perfect transformation and combination of the three machines (A, B, and C). The combined Ideon stands approximately 12.9 cm tall, featuring high-density detail sculpting, a dynamic body proportion, and articulated joints for various action poses.
