MECHA SMILE, a brand from Japan, has teased the latest information for a new product in their 'MODEROID' model kit series: "Kabutack" from the classic tokusatsu series "B-Fighter Kabuto." The release date is yet to be announced.

First aired in 1997, the tokusatsu series "B-Fighter Kabuto" is the 16th installment in Toei's "Metal Hero" franchise. The story follows Dr. Kouenji Torihiko, who, in his quest to explore the mysterious "Star of Peace" he discovered, created a series of self-aware, freely moving robots called "BEETLE Robots." However, he vanished shortly after their completion. After three years of "sleep learning," these robots officially began their activities. Some chose to build friendships with humans, while others learned the flaws of human society and became villains. They then engaged in a battle to claim the 13 "Stars of Peace," which could grant wishes.

The protagonist of the series, "Kabutack," is a rhinoceros beetle-themed robot. While occasionally flustered, he possesses double the effort and courage of others. In his energy-saving "Normal Mode," he boasts a cute design and demeanor, but upon transforming into "Super Mode," he not only becomes incredibly cool but also fully unleashes his combat performance.

The "MODEROID Kabutack" model kit is assembled with a rich array of colored molded parts, perfectly recreating his adorable appearance from the show. It also includes three interchangeable expression parts. Beyond the highly articulated limb joints, Kabutack fully reproduces the classic flip transformation structure seen in the series, allowing for a complete, parts-forming-free transformation into the cool "Super Mode." For weaponry, in addition to the Electric Baton, Kabutack's rhinoceros beetle helmet from Normal Mode can also be held as a shield.
