Japan's MECHA SMILE brand has teased the latest additions to its "MODEROID" model kit series: the "Mini Transforming Raijin-Oh" and "Mini Transforming Bakuryu-Oh", both from the Eldran Series anime "Zettai Muteki Raijin-Oh". Release dates are yet to be announced.
Raijin-Oh was originally a colossal robot belonging to Eldran, a warrior who had protected Earth since ancient times. After being wounded by an evil imperial commander attempting to invade Earth, Raijin-Oh fell to Yoko Elementary School. Eldran separated Raijin-Oh into Ken-Oh, Juu-Oh, and Hou-Oh, entrusting them to the righteous students of Class 5-3 to defend the planet. Piloted by Jin, Asuka, and Kouji, Ken-Oh, Juu-Oh, and Hou-Oh can perform the "Unrivaled Combination" to re-form the Earth's guardian deity, Raijin-Oh. Furthermore, it can execute the "Super Unrivaled Combination" with the later-appearing Bakuryu-Oh to form the even more powerful "Zettai Muteki Raijin-Oh".
The "MODEROID Mini Transforming" line specializes in creating pre-combination mecha in miniature sizes, faithfully reproducing their robot forms through transformation and combination mechanisms with no leftover parts. The first "Zettai Muteki Raijin-Oh" release in this line, "Raijin-Oh", utilizes multi-color molded parts to construct the three mini-sized machines: Ken-Oh, Juu-Oh, and Hou-Oh. Not only can these be displayed and played with individually, but they can also achieve the "Raijin-Oh" form through a complete transformation and combination mechanism that requires no part swapping. The combined Raijin-Oh stands approximately 129mm tall, boasting a refined sculpt that closely matches its anime design, and features articulated joints for dynamic posing.
Meanwhile, the second release, "Bakuryu-Oh", recreates both its dragon and robot forms through the transformation and reassembly of various body parts. Furthermore, it can combine with the first release, "Raijin-Oh", to achieve the "Super Unrivaled Combination" into "Zettai Muteki Raijin-Oh"!
