For most actors, starring in a major commercial film—especially a superhero movie—is a common career strategy to boost visibility and secure more future acting opportunities. Robert Pattinson is no exception, and he once held similar expectations. In a recent interview with "GQ" magazine, Pattinson admitted that when he initially joined DC to star in "The Batman," he hoped the highly anticipated film would open doors to a wider array of job prospects.

However, things didn't go as planned. Pattinson lamented that "The Batman" didn't quite deliver that effect. "It's funny, because whenever you do a big commercial movie, you almost immediately forget how miserable you were before," he shared. "I mean, the worst thing in the world is not being able to find work. I remember after 'The Batman,' I thought, 'I absolutely have to do another big movie,' and then I couldn't find a single one to do. It was really frustrating because I thought a secret door had opened, and suddenly all sorts of scripts would be laid out for me to choose from. But that wasn't the case. That kind of opportunity just doesn't exist anymore, because the entire industry has changed."
Pattinson believes that while superhero films were once a surefire way to secure more roles, Hollywood's landscape has undergone drastic changes in recent years, meaning this "golden formula" no longer yields the same level of effectiveness.
