The MECHA SMILE brand has just revealed the latest additions to its MODEROID plastic model kit line from the legendary "Godzilla" film series: the MODEROID Mechagodzilla (1974) and the MODEROID M.O.G.E.R.A.! Release dates are currently pending.
First appearing in the 1974 film "Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla," the original Mechagodzilla is an Earth-invading weapon constructed by the Black Hole Planet 3 Aliens. Its chassis is forged from the incredibly durable Space Titanium and was initially disguised under a synthetic skin to perfectly mimic Godzilla. Its true mechanical form was only revealed to humanity after a brutal battle with the real King of the Monsters. Not just a look-alike, its capabilities were designed to surpass Godzilla's, boasting overwhelming firepower with powerful beams and an endless supply of internal missiles, along with independent flight and a defensive barrier that could nullify the atomic heat ray, pushing Godzilla to his absolute limit.
The MODEROID Mechagodzilla (1974) is assembled from multi-colored runners and stands approximately 20 cm tall upon completion. It perfectly captures the mecha's silver metallic armor and the high-density rivet details across its body. The limbs and other joints are fully articulated, and the head even replicates its 360-degree rotation mechanism. The chest armor can be opened to reveal its ultimate weapon, the Cross Attack Beam, and by swapping out parts, the model can be posed in its flight configuration.
Making its debut in the 1994 film "Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla," M.O.G.E.R.A. (Mobile Operation Godzilla Expert Robot Aero-type) is a new Anti-Godzilla weapon developed by G-Force using data from the original Mechagodzilla. It was designed to overcome its predecessor's shortcomings, such as a lack of mobility and a tendency to overheat. The main body is formed by the combination of an aerial fighter and a subterranean tank, allowing for high-speed travel underground and in space. The blue sections of its body are coated in a Synthetic Blue Diamond Armor that can reflect Godzilla's heat ray, while its abdomen houses its most powerful weapon, the Plasma Maser Cannon, which boasts five times the power of the Type 92 Maser Cannon and is capable of rapid fire. M.O.G.E.R.A.'s superior performance truly makes it the ultimate Anti-Godzilla weapon.
The MODEROID M.O.G.E.R.A. is also built from multi-colored runners and stands around 20 cm tall when assembled. It faithfully reproduces the sleek, high-tech silver armor and the blue Synthetic Blue Diamond Coating. The model even replicates the signature separation gimmick, allowing the upper and lower halves to become the "Star Falcon" and "Land Moguera" vehicles. With a full range of articulation, it can be displayed in its flight pose. The drills on both arms can be opened to reveal the hidden Spiral Grenade Missiles, and the abdomen can be swapped with alternate parts to deploy the Plasma Maser Cannon.
