BANDAI SPIRITS' TAMASHII NATIONS, under its Collectors Division, has officially announced the latest addition to the "GUNDAM UNIVERSE" series – the "Char's Zaku II" from the "Mobile Suit Gundam" anime. This 6-inch action figure line, designed for Gundam fans worldwide, is slated for release in October 2026.
The MS-06 Zaku II served as the Principality of Zeon's primary mass-produced mobile suit during the One Year War. Its superior mobility and diverse armaments far outclassed the Earth Federation Forces' weaponry at the time. Coupled with its high adaptability and ease of modification, various Zaku II types were deployed across numerous battlefields, solidifying its status as an iconic Zeon machine. Among these, the most renowned is the MS-06S Char's Zaku II, piloted by the "Red Comet," Char Aznable, who gained fame during the Battle of Loum. Char famously painted his beloved mobile suit in his signature red. While its thrust was only 30% higher than a standard F-type, Char's extraordinary piloting skills made it appear to move three times faster in the eyes of observers.
The "GUNDAM UNIVERSE Char's Zaku II" is crafted with the "UNIVERSAL REACTION FRAME," a new articulation frame fully upgraded since 2025. This significantly boosts the range of motion compared to previous figures in the series, enabling collectors to pose it in even more dynamic and powerful battle stances. Both the exterior armor design and the articulation segmentation have been almost entirely re-engineered from the 2021 release, now boasting coloring and certain design elements that more closely align with its anime appearance. The head retains the signature mono-eye camera rotation mechanism. Iconic armaments such as the Zaku Bazooka, Zaku Machine Gun, and Heat Hawk are included as accessories, with hardpoints on the side and rear skirt armor for weapon storage.
