DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn recently took to Threads to lavish praise on the new R-rated action film "Blindspot," stating that director Kenji Tanigaki has once again proven himself one of the best active action filmmakers following his work on "Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In."
While Gunn is currently directing the 2025 "Superman" film and developing its sequel, "Superman: Man of Tomorrow," he recently made time to see "Blindspot" in theaters with some of the "Man of Tomorrow" cast and crew. He publicly gave the film a glowing review after the screening.
"Oh my God! Just saw 'Blindspot' with a bunch of the 'Man of Tomorrow' cast and crew, and I thought director Kenji Tanigaki couldn't top himself after the incredible 'Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In,' but holy cow, 'Blindspot' proves he's one of the best action filmmakers working today, and we all loved it!" Gunn wrote.
"Blindspot" tells the story of a father who launches a relentless pursuit to rescue his kidnapped daughter. The film has recently garnered significant praise for its intense action sequences. It currently holds an impressive 97% "Fresh" rating on Rotten Tomatoes from critics and a 95% Audience Score, indicating strong word-of-mouth.
The film stars Xie Miao, Joe Taslim, Brian Le, and Yang Enyou. While "Blindspot" is primarily in Chinese and Tagalog, with only some English dialogue, Gunn's public endorsement could potentially spark more discussion and interest in the North American market.
