The long-running horror franchise "Evil Dead" is set to release its sixth film, "Evil Dead Burn", on July 8. However, co-producer Rob Tapert has already begun teasing details about the seventh installment, "Evil Dead Wrath." Tapert, who recently attended a panel at Michigan State University, informed students that "Evil Dead Wrath" would be the franchise's first prequel.

Tapert revealed that "Evil Dead Wrath" marks another significant breakthrough for the series. He stated that its story takes place earlier than any previous film, set in 1972 (nine years before the 1981 original). Tapert also mentioned that "Evil Dead Wrath" will have a Quentin Tarantino-esque style and a distinct 1970s visual aesthetic, as the director and cinematographer intentionally aimed to emulate the look of vintage Ektachrome 100 film.
"Evil Dead Wrath" has already wrapped production and is currently in post-production. It is slated for a North American release on April 7, 2028.
