BANDAI SPIRITS' TAMASHII NATIONS collector's division, known for its METAL ROBOT Damashii series which combines metallic finishes with die-cast frames, has announced the latest release from "Advance of Zeta: The Flag of Titans": the "Prototype Asshimar TR-3 [Kiharu]", slated for November 2026.
The TR Project's third-phase experimental unit, the "NRX-044(R) Prototype Asshimar TR-3 [Kiharu] Space Specification," is a mobile suit forcibly requisitioned and modified from a prototype Asshimar. Its primary purpose was to validate the strength of its drum-frame and the feasibility of its transformation mechanism in a space environment. Consequently, the entire unit does not feature full armor, and its lower body replaces the legs with fuel tanks and thrusters. This unit also has a gravity-use specification where the lower body can be swapped with thermonuclear engine leg units, allowing for operation within Earth's atmosphere.
The "METAL ROBOT Damashii Prototype Asshimar TR-3 [Kiharu]" boasts an impressive 27 cm height, making it one of the larger entries in the series. Its intricate design meticulously recreates the mechanical frame, pipelines, exterior armor, and fuel tanks. The figure features semi-gloss and metallic paint applications for a realistic, weighty feel, along with printed markings such as the T3 unit's rabbit emblem. Internally, the entire frame and joint parts are constructed from die-cast metal. This not only provides high-strength joints and a substantial heft but also incorporates a completely new transformation mechanism, enabling its Mobile Armor (MA) form with concentrated rear thrusters for explosive acceleration.
In its Mobile Suit (MS) form, it also features numerous mechanisms. Its six external armor pieces utilize ball-joint connections and sliding mechanisms, while the leg-mounted fuel tanks also feature die-cast two-axis movable joints. A dedicated display stand is included, allowing for a wider range of dynamic poses. The deployment of auxiliary mechanical arms on both sides of the fuselage is also replicated, and energy pack magazines can be mounted on the outer side of the fuel tanks. The main weapon, the "Beam Rifle," also features detailed color separation achieved through paint applications.
