Bandai Spirits has announced the upcoming release of the latest revival product from Toei's 1997 tokusatsu series "B-Fighter Kabuto," the "RE: Super Change Scorpion Ganiran," slated for an October 2026 launch.
The 1997 tokusatsu series "B-Fighter Kabuto" is the 16th installment in Toei's "Metal Hero" franchise. The story follows Dr. Kouenji Torahiko, who, in his quest to explore the mysterious "Peace Star" he discovered, created a series of self-aware, autonomous robots called "BEETLE Robots." However, he vanished shortly after their completion. After three years of "sleep learning," these robots began to activate. Some chose to forge friendships with humans, while others learned the flaws of human society and became villains. They then engaged in a battle to claim the 13 constellation "Peace Stars," which are said to grant wishes.
The "RE: Super Change Scorpion Ganiran" is a redesigned version based on the original "Super Change" series toy released in 1997. While the original die-cast parts have been replaced with plastic, it faithfully retains the "Super Mode" transformation gimmick seen in the show. The head transformation has been updated with a linked mechanism, where the eyes are covered by a part as the Super Mode head extends. Furthermore, additional articulation has been incorporated into the neck, chest area, and waist, allowing for a wider range of dynamic poses. The figure also features enhanced paint applications on the back and belt, bringing it even closer to its on-screen appearance.
