Mattel's popular "Polly Pocket" brand announced a live-action film adaptation back in 2021, with Lily Collins attached to star and "Girls" creator-star Lena Dunham set to write, produce, and direct. However, after five years in development without a finished product, Dunham has now exited the project due to creative differences.

In a recent development, Mattel has found Dunham's replacement in veteran actress Clea DuVall (pictured above), who also boasts writing and directing talents. DuVall previously helmed the holiday romantic comedy "Happiest Season" and co-directed episodes of the critically acclaimed detective comedy series "Poker Face."
Upon taking over, DuVall has also personally rewritten the latest draft of the script. The film is currently slated to begin principal photography in Atlanta, USA, this October.
