Japanese hobby manufacturer GOOD SMILE COMPANY held a press conference in Taipei to announce its 25th-anniversary commemorative project, the "GATTAI SHIN SERIES." The event, which welcomed media and fans, provided a detailed look at the first entry in the series, "Beast King GoDANDIVINE." Hiro Tanaka, General Producer of Good Smile Company's mecha toy brand 'Mecha Smile,' was on-site to meet with fans and share fascinating behind-the-scenes stories about the project's creation.
Good Smile Company's brand-new 25th-anniversary project, the "GATTAI SHIN SERIES," is set to launch in 2026. The series aims to pass on the culture and appeal of "combining robots" to future generations by bringing together a multitude of creators who are passionate about robots and the MECHA SMILE brand. From the earliest planning stages, the toys and animated works have been developed in complete synergy. The goal is to release a completely new combining robot anime each year, with corresponding toy releases under the MECHA SMILE brand, creating a new classic of robot animation for the Reiwa era.
The series' first animated title, "Beast King GoDANDIVINE," is a collaboration with industry giants like ANIPLEX and TAKARA TOMY's Toei Animation division. The main staff and voice cast are a powerhouse lineup, featuring the legendary tokusatsu scriptwriter Toshiki Inoue as story editor and screenwriter, and animator Maziro, known for his work on series like "Macross Delta," as the original character designer. The titular robot, "GoDANDIVINE," was designed by the immensely popular Korean toy design team, GOD BRAVE STUDIO. The anime is scheduled to begin airing in Japan in October 2026, with international broadcast dates currently under negotiation.

【Synopsis】
Twenty years have passed since the combining robot "GoDANDIVINE" defeated the mysterious enemy, the "Dark Post."
The world is at peace. However, the "Kaisuga Toy Company," which once took the world by storm with its GoDANDIVINE toys, has fallen on hard times due to its over-reliance on the hero.
The company's president, "Genjuro Shizima," finds himself wishing for GoDANDIVINE's return, even if it means disrupting the peace.
As if his wish were granted, the Dark Post reappears in Tokyo.
People who have grown complacent in two decades of peace are thrown into a panic.
As everyone flees in terror, high school student "Gekijin Shizima" is led to the cockpit of GoDANDIVINE by his uncle, "Yusaku Kuroda," one of the original pilots.
What is the purpose of the Dark Post's reappearance? And can the Kaisuga Toy Company reclaim its former glory in the toy industry?

Mr. Tanaka mentioned that as a completely original production, there were initial concerns about finding the right team. Fortunately, many outstanding creators were eager to participate. Takanori Nishikawa, who will be performing the theme song, has worked closely with GSC on projects like "Thunderbolt Fantasy" and is set to deliver another incredible track. He praised Maziro's character designs as cute and charismatic, and noted that Toshiki Inoue has crafted them with distinct personalities. The story will interweave the narratives of the adults and the younger generation, and Tanaka is confident that audiences will fall in love with every character and find the parallel struggles of different age groups relatable.
The main mecha, "GoDANDIVINE," designed by GOD BRAVE STUDIO, is formed by the core warrior "Dandiace" combining with three phantom beast machines: "Slash Unicorn," "Magnum Titan," and "Flame Garuda." Because the anime and toy were designed concurrently, the toy can perfectly replicate the show's incredible design and transformation/combination sequence. It's even slated to be released in the same month the anime premieres in Japan, allowing fans to enjoy a "watch while you play" experience.
Mr. Tanaka also revealed that GOD BRAVE STUDIO was meticulous with the design of each machine, often proposing unique ideas that exceeded expectations. The final product is a perfect blend of stunning aesthetics and fun, innovative mechanics, showcasing their immense love for robots. During animation production, he worked closely with the animation team to ensure that the on-screen portrayal of each robot would do justice to GOD BRAVE STUDIO's outstanding designs with maximum impact.

This DX release features four machines, each with intricate sculpting, rich paint applications, and articulated joints for individual play. It boasts a complete, partsforming-less transformation and combination sequence, forming the approximately 24cm tall GoDANDIVINE.

This is a plastic model kit version that forgoes the transformation gimmick to specialize in the articulation and poseability of the combined form. Once assembled, the figure stands approximately 13cm tall. Thanks to parts molded in color, some pre-painted parts, and stickers, it can closely replicate its on-screen appearance right out of the box.

Furthermore, at the invitation of GOOD SMILE COMPANY President Takanori Aki, TAKARA TOMY's collector toy brand T-SPARK will also join the celebration. They will be releasing their own "TOYRISE GoDANDIVINE," a toy developed with a different design philosophy. This not only gives fans more choices but also aims to bring in more manufacturers to promote and pass on the culture and charm of Japan's combining robots.
