Bandai Candy, Bandai's candy toy division in Japan, has announced the upcoming release of its latest product, "GUNDAM ARTIFACT Best Selection," slated for October 2026. This highly anticipated collection is part of the popular "Mobile Suit Gundam" candy toy series, which features Mobile Suits rendered in a distinctive Garage Kit (GK) style.
The "GUNDAM ARTIFACT" series is renowned for its unique approach, mimicking the intricate detail of resin GK kits. Crafted from ABS plastic, these figures come in an earthy yellow molded color, reminiscent of unpainted resin. Despite their mini size of approximately 5.5 cm tall, they faithfully recreate Mobile Suits in realistic proportions. Each figure can be disassembled into about 70 highly detailed parts, challenging modelers' keen eyes and painting skills. Despite the high part count and intricate design, each Mobile Suit is affordably priced at around 500 yen, offering exceptional value.
The newly unveiled "GUNDAM ARTIFACT Best Selection" doesn't introduce any new Mobile Suits. Instead, it re-releases five popular Mobile Suits from previous waves: the Z Gundam, Qubeley, High Mobility Type Zaku II (Ortega's Custom), High Mobility Type Zaku II (Gaia/Mash Custom), and ZZ Gundam. Each Mobile Suit's design has been reinterpreted in the distinctive "GUNDAM ARTIFACT" style, featuring exaggerated armor designs compared to their original settings, high-density mechanical details, and foot designs reminiscent of aircraft landing gear.
