BANDAI HOBBY, the model kit division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS, is set to release its latest product from the anime "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX," the "HG 1/144 Hambrabi (GQ)," on June 26, 2026. Ahead of its launch, official box art and actual model sample images have been unveiled.
Appearing in the "GQuuuuuuX" universe, the ORX-139 Hambrabi is a prototype transformable mobile suit developed by the Earth Federation Forces' Gusta Research Institute after the One Year War, piloted by Earth Federation Lieutenant Gates Keiper. Unlike the Hambrabi that appeared in the main timeline's "Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam," this machine's design has been significantly revamped by designers Yamashita Ikuto and Kim Se-jun. Due to divergent war outcomes in this alternate setting, the unit's performance and completion level are inferior to its main timeline counterpart. Notably, the transformation system suffers from immature "Magnetic Coating" technology, leading to significantly delayed transformation times, and its Mobile Armor (MA) form was never even shown in the series.
The "HG 1/144 Hambrabi (GQ)" is crafted using Bandai's latest color separation and part division techniques. Its intricate parts faithfully recreate the anime's slender yet sharp body, massive skirt armor, two fixed beam rifles mounted on the back, and wing designs. It boasts flexible articulation to replicate its in-show combat poses, and the head's mono-eye camera also features a movable gimmick. Furthermore, it incorporates a transformation mechanism, allowing it to achieve its Mobile Armor (MA) form, which was never seen in the series.
For weaponry, the kit includes the distinctive "Warrior Rifle," which can be fitted with a beam effect part at the stock to recreate its scythe mode. The "Sea Serpent," a special weapon designed to restrain enemy mobile suits and and discharge high-voltage electricity, can be displayed in its deployed state using a single-core wire part.
