Bandai's Gashapon capsule toy brand, known for its "MOBILE SUIT ENSEMBLE" series featuring interchangeable joints and infinite customization, has announced its latest release: "Gundam Mecha II." This new lineup is set to launch in November 2026.
During the Principality of Zeon's "One Year War" against the Earth Federation Forces, both sides primarily deployed Mobile Suits like the Zaku, GM, and Gundam as their cutting-edge weaponry. However, these new machines weren't omnipotent. Traditional military units such as fighters, tanks, and infantry were still crucial for securing air, sea, and land superiority. For instance, the Zeon forces utilized the "Magella Attack" tank, which could separate its upper section for flight, and the "Dopp" atmospheric fighter, developed for Earth-based combat during the stalemated ground war. The Federation, even before the Core Fighter, had the versatile "FF-3 Saberfish" multi-purpose fighter in the UC 0070s, which could even be adapted for space operations after modifications.
To expand the world of the MOBILE SUIT ENSEMBLE series, Bandai is releasing "Gundam Mecha," featuring various vehicles and weapons from the Gundam universe, each standing approximately 5-6 cm tall. The second wave includes five iconic machines from the Universal Century's One Year War: "Kalma's Dopp Fighter," the "Magella Attack" (08th MS Team Color), the "Saberfish Fighter" (with stand), the "Cui Transport Tank," and the "Space Launch." These figures boast the same rich detail and coloring as the Mobile Suits in the series.
