Japanese model kit manufacturer Kotobukiya has announced the upcoming release of its latest product, the "ZENITH GIRL Gray Ver.", slated for November 2026. This new kit commemorates the 30th anniversary of the classic tactical RPG series "Front Mission" and integrates Kotobukiya's renowned bishoujo model kit technology.
First launched in 1995, the "Front Mission" series is a tactical RPG developed by Japan's SQUARE (now Square Enix). The games are set in a near-future Earth around 2100, focusing on sci-fi elements like humanoid mobile weapons. They tell stories of people worldwide caught in war, piloting "Wander Panzers" (WAPs) as they fight for survival on the battlefield. The "Zenith", featured in this new product, is the O.C.U. military's most iconic general-purpose unit and arguably the most recognizable Wander Panzer across the entire series.
The "ZENITH GIRL Gray Ver." features a bishoujo design by illustrator Nidy-2D- and is commercialized by Kotobukiya, leveraging its extensive experience in bishoujo model kits. The design faithfully retains the Zenith's original armor aesthetics and weaponry, while the bishoujo body showcases Nidy-2D-'s signature voluptuous physique. This kit is an updated version of a previously released standard edition, not only changing the armor and hair color to the same gray-white tones as the "ZENITH V 30th Anniversary Edition" but also including three new interchangeable face parts, along with two newly sculpted weapons: the "Sharp Saber" and "Firewall."
The bishoujo body features a highly revealing outfit and a curvaceous, fleshy physique. Distinct parts are used to represent the visor on her forehead and the streaked yellow hair strands. With significantly different part molding colors, fair skin tones, and three new expressions including a "blushing face," the kit presents an entirely fresh look. Its flexible articulation allows for dynamic poses, showcasing both her attractive figure and cool combat stances.
By swapping parts, you can recreate her heavily armored and weaponized combat form. The armor boasts intricate detailing and incorporates numerous articulation points. Large shoulder armor pieces connect to the backpack via movable axes, greatly enhancing the base body's shoulder articulation. In addition to the two newly added weapons mentioned, standard "Rifle" and "Shotgun" accessories are also included. Equipped with 3mm connection points across various parts of the body, it can interchange parts with Kotobukiya's separately sold "Frame Arms Girl," "Megami Device," and other model kit series.
Furthermore, the product can equip most weapons from Square Enix's "STRUCTURE ARTS 1/72 Wander Panzer" series. It also includes weapon-holding hands and wrist connection parts compatible with the "STRUCTURE ARTS PLUS 1/48 ZENITH V 30th Anniversary Edition," significantly expanding its playability.
