Celebrating the 55th anniversary of "Kamen Rider," BANDAI SPIRITS' Collectors Division TAMASHII NATIONS is bringing back a classic with a new release from its iconic die-cast toy brand, POPYNICA. Fans can look forward to the "Cyclone (Kamen Rider 2)" die-cast model, priced at 9,900 JPY, with an anticipated release in December 2026!
The Modified Cyclone, famously ridden by Hayato Ichimonji, was an upgraded version of the original Cyclone. It featured a more streamlined two-piece windshield and significantly reduced weight, enhancing its maneuverability. While maintaining a top speed of 400 km/h, its horsepower was boosted, and new capabilities were added, including the ability to climb vertical walls and fire rescue grappling hooks. Its exhaust pipes could even emit colorful smoke to disorient enemies! This new Cyclone toy is a faithful re-release of the "Mini Mini Cyclone," originally launched by POPY in 1973 before its acquisition by Bandai. That original release became the progenitor of both the POPYNICA and Chogokin series, and now it returns in POPYNICA's "Modified Cyclone" specifications!
Standing approximately 9 cm tall, the model faithfully recreates the unique appearance of the original Mini Mini Cyclone. The included rider figure features the classic "Old No. 2" design with an articulated head. The iconic red scarf around his neck is made from fabric with an embedded wire, allowing collectors to pose it dynamically to evoke the thrill of high-speed action! The Cyclone's main body incorporates die-cast alloy parts in crucial areas like the front forks and the six large exhaust pipes. Tampo printing is meticulously applied to reproduce markings and other intricate details on the vehicle, perfectly showcasing the enduring appeal of this legendary die-cast toy.
