Good Smile Company and Max Factory, collaborating on the 'PLAMATEA' character model kit series, have announced their latest release: the "Shikinami Asuka Langley" model kit from "Evangelion: New Theatrical Edition," slated for a December 2026 launch.
The second child, Shikinami Asuka Langley, who pilots Evangelion Unit-02 in the series, is brought to life as an approximately 17 cm tall model kit. Utilizing multi-colored molded parts, pre-painted components, and water-slide decals for touch-ups, builders can achieve a highly accurate representation of her iconic Plugsuit appearance straight out of the box. The kit not only meticulously recreates her slender and elegant physique along with the intricate details of her Plugsuit but also features highly articulated joints, allowing for a wide range of dynamic poses, including her signature "sports sit."
Accessories include one pre-painted "smiling face" expression part, along with three additional face parts—a "smiling face," a "blushing face," and a "Are you an idiot?" face—that require water-slide decals for customizable eye directions. Multiple interchangeable hand parts are also provided to achieve more nuanced scene poses. These include a hand sculpted to hold her mother's keepsake doll and a weapon-holding hand designed to grip weapons included with the "MODEROID Evangelion Unit-01" kit.
