Millie Bobby Brown recently addressed the most pressing question following the "Stranger Things" finale – whether Eleven truly survived – during a live recording of "Happy Sad Confused" at 92NY.
She revealed that immediately after the finale aired, creators The Duffer Brothers messaged her, cautioning her to keep the secret.
"Don't tell anyone, because we kind of made a secret pact," Brown elaborated. "No one else knows, just the three of us. And what they decide to do with that information is up to them."
With the final episode concluding with Mike imagining Eleven's survival, fan opinions have been divided, and even the cast members don't agree. Brown quipped, "The entire cast thinks I'm dead. First of all, that's so rude, it's really rude. That must mean something, right? You guys are projecting! It feels like, 'Hey, guys, I get it, you just want me dead!' But I'm like, 'Believe!' Can there be a little hope here?"
In contrast, David Harbour previously stated that Eleven's fate was clear from the beginning, pointing out, "You really can't have a little girl with supernatural powers running around Hawkins, Indiana; she just can't exist."
Brown also admitted to experiencing a period of low spirits after the series wrapped.
"I had a little bit, a very slight depression," she shared, describing that period as incredibly difficult. This prompted her to reach out to the cast to mend relationships, asking, "We're still friends, right? You're not going to stop talking to me after this, are you? If I ever made you unhappy, I'm so sorry."
Brown explained that she joined the production at age 10, and these actors had been in her life even more than her own family, making the farewell to "Stranger Things" and Eleven particularly challenging.
