Jane Austen's classic novels are a perennial source for new adaptations, and this year is set to deliver a new generation's take on "Sense and Sensibility." Tonight, the first official trailer for the film has been released.
The new adaptation stars Irish actress Daisy Edgar-Jones ("Normal People") as Elinor Dashwood. The cast also includes Caitríona Balfe, George MacKay, Stacy Martin, and Fiona Shaw. The film is scheduled for a fall release.

This version of "Sense and Sensibility" is directed by Georgia Oakley, who earned acclaim with nominations at the Venice Film Festival, the BAFTAs, and the Gotham Independent Film Awards for her film "Blue Jean." The screenplay is penned by novelist Diana Reid. The film also marks the third Austen adaptation from the partnership of Focus Features and Working Title, following their collaborations on the 2005 version of "Pride & Prejudice" and 2020's "Emma.".
