Last June, acclaimed entertainment journalist Jeff Sneider made a bombshell revelation on his regular podcast, "The Hot Mic," hinting that Pixar and Walt Disney Pictures were quietly developing a sequel to "Ratatouille." Now, a year later, "Ratatouille" director and co-writer Brad Bird (pictured below) has seemingly confirmed those discussions in a recent interview with Collider, revealing that he ultimately turned down the idea.

Bird told Collider, "No, I'm not interested in 'Ratatouille 2.' They made some feints at me, trying to gauge my reaction. They'd joke about it, but with a serious undertone, like asking, 'Would you be willing to do another one?' And I'd reply, 'No, we've already told that story.'" He elaborated that whenever a project resonates with people, they automatically think, "How about another one?" Bird even brought up his earlier film, "The Iron Giant," as an example, finding it amusing because "The Iron Giant" was a box office failure upon its initial release and only later found its audience. He questioned how that story could be extended: "Is the Iron Giant still clumsily wandering around, undiscovered? In short, for me, that story has already been told."
