BANDAI SPIRITS' TAMASHII NATIONS collectors division, known for its robot-themed action figure line "ROBOT Spirits ver. A.N.I.M.E.", has announced that a new product from the anime "Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam" will be revealed soon.
TAMASHII NATIONS has released a teaser silhouette, confirming that the upcoming release is the transformable mobile suit "Z Gundam," piloted by protagonist Kamille Bidan. While the "ROBOT Spirits ver. A.N.I.M.E." series has recently delivered transformable mobile suits like the Asshimar and Messala, successfully recreating their transformation mechanisms, the Z Gundam's complex design has historically posed a significant challenge for transforming figures, often struggling to balance structural integrity with articulation. It remains to be seen how this new release will tackle the issue, or if the transformation mechanism will be omitted entirely.
The MSZ-006 Z Gundam is a next-generation transformable MS developed by the AEUG, utilizing the movable frame technology from the RX-178 Gundam MK-II, which they captured from the Titans. It features highly rigid and lightweight armor made from Gundarium γ alloy and is equipped with a versatile arsenal including a Beam Rifle, Beam Sabers, and a grenade launcher with multiple warhead types. The Z Gundam also incorporates a simplified "Bio-Sensor" psycommu device, allowing Newtype pilots to enhance the mobile suit's performance through their brainwaves. When fully activated, this system can generate incredible phenomena, such as strengthening beam weapons, forming defensive barriers, and even disabling enemy mobile suits.
