BANDAI CANDY, the popular candy toy and model kit division of Japanese toy company BANDAI, has announced the first product in the 25th-anniversary celebration of "Hyakujuu Sentai Gaoranger" for their acclaimed assembly model series, "SHOKUGAN MODELING PROJECT" (SMP). The "Power Animal EXTRA GaoPeacock & GaoCobra" is slated for release in December 2026!
To commemorate both the 10th anniversary of the SMP series and the 25th anniversary of Gaoranger, three new products are being unveiled. These feature "phantom" Power Animals that previously only existed in concept art: "GaoKangaroo", "GaoPeacock & GaoCobra", and "GaoTurtle & GaoWalrus". All three products can combine to form the brand-new Spirit King, "GaoGuardian," and can also be combined with previously released Spirit Kings!
"Power Animal EXTRA GaoPeacock & GaoCobra" includes two new Power Animals. GaoPeacock can combine with "SMP GaoKing" to form "GaoKing Sword Saint," utilizing its peacock tail feathers to recreate four different weapon styles! Furthermore, GaoPeacock and GaoCobra, when combined with GaoKing and the GaoRhino, GaoPolar Bear, and GaoBear (included with GaoMuscle), can form the impressive "GaoKing ValiToutuder"! In its GaoGuardian form, GaoPeacock serves as the torso, faithfully recreating the majestic appearance of this phantom Spirit King! GaoGuardian can unleash its ultimate move, "Sacred Shield Flash," by using the GaoTurtle on its left arm to clamp and slice enemies, or perform the "Sacred Bow Instant Strike" by resting the Peacock Sword on the bow formed by the deployed GaoTurtle!
A special bonus for purchasing all three products simultaneously includes the exclusive booklet "GaoGuardian Super Complete Works" and a "GaoGuardian Packaging Style Sleeve," both featuring special illustrations by toy designer Tsuyoshi Nonaka!
▼Finally, a silhouette of the next commemorative product has also been revealed. From its outline, it's clear that it will feature three more phantom Power Animals: GaoManta Ray, GaoBoar, and GaoBat.
