Three years after acclaimed Hong Kong action director John Woo returned to Hollywood with the dialogue-free revenge thriller "Silent Night," another action-packed, dialogue-free film, "Motor City," is on the horizon. This time, the lead role, previously held by Joel Kinnaman in "Silent Night," goes to Alan Ritchson, who has cemented his status as a new-generation action star with his recent lead performance in the "Reacher" series.
The film recently dropped its first trailer and is slated for a July 24 theatrical release in North America.

"Motor City" is penned by Chad St. John, co-writer of "London Has Fallen," and directed by Potsy Ponciroli ("Greedy People"). The impressive supporting cast includes Shailene Woodley, Ben Foster, and Ben McKenzie. Additionally, Jack White, frontman and guitarist of The White Stripes, contributed to the film's score.
The official synopsis reads: "Set in 1970s Detroit, working-class romantic John Miller falls for the girlfriend of a ruthless gangster, leading to his wrongful imprisonment. After years behind bars, John returns to society with a singular goal: revenge."
