Following the reveal of the S.H.Figuarts Shinkocchou Seihou Kamen Rider BLACK King Stone Flash Edition, Bandai Spirits' Tamashii Nations Collectors Division has officially unveiled another new entry from the "Kamen Rider BLACK" series: the "Shadow Moon Shadow Flash Edition" action figure. This highly anticipated release is priced at 13,200 JPY and is scheduled to launch in January 2027!
The story follows protagonist Kotaro Minami and his best friend, Nobuhiko Akizuki, who were born on the same day. On their 19th birthday, they were abducted by the evil organization Gorgom, designated as candidates for the next Creation King, and subjected to改造 using the King Stone. Kotaro managed to escape amidst the chaos caused by Professor Akizuki before his memories could be fully altered, while Nobuhiko, severely injured, was forced to remain. After facing numerous difficulties during the resurrection process, Gorgom finally succeeded in transforming Nobuhiko into Shadow Moon by combining the power of the Three High Priests' stones (Daru, Baraom, and Bishium). Shadow Moon then contended with Kotaro, who later transformed into Kamen Rider Black, for the succession of the Creation King.
The Shadow Moon Shadow Flash Edition stands approximately 14.5 cm tall. The sculpt appears to reuse the base from the 2021 release, meticulously crafted with the Shinkocchou Seihou method, which builds the figure's sculpt from the skeletal structure outwards to the costume, showcasing intricate details across the entire body. The insect-like leg designs on the arms and legs, along with the intricate details of the belt, are all faithfully preserved. The exquisite paint application replicates the metallic texture of the armor, and the hip joints feature interchangeable soft and hard plastic parts, ensuring both aesthetic integrity and a wider range of leg articulation. One of the most significant features of the Shadow Flash Edition is the inclusion of a light-gathering effect head sculpt; when replaced, shining a light from behind will create a glowing effect!
Additional accessories include the re-issued four left and three right interchangeable hands, a pair of Shadow Sabers, the Satan Saber, and BLACK's weapon hand. New additions include an interchangeable belt part with a halo-effect paint application and a PET material transparent effect sheet that simulates a glowing effect. These can be combined with a dedicated display stand to vividly recreate the moment Shadow Moon unleashes his Shadow Flash! This figure is definitely a must-have to pose alongside BLACK, recreating their epic battle scenes!
