Korean toy manufacturer BLITZWAY has officially announced the latest addition to their robot-themed die-cast action figure line, "CARBOTIX," with the reveal of "Evangelion Unit-01" from the "Rebuild of Evangelion" anime series, slated for release in March 2027.
The "CARBOTIX Evangelion Unit-01" stands approximately 33 cm tall and features a highly articulated design. Its overall sculpt retains the towering, slender physique and muscular restraint armor contours seen in the original series. However, it's not a direct replica of the original design; instead, BLITZWAY has added rich, intricate details based on the concept of "what functions would Unit-01 require if it truly existed." The distinctive purple and green restraint armor is meticulously reproduced with glossy paint applications and tampo printing, capturing both the vibrant colors and various body markings. Furthermore, the green sections glow under blacklight, adding an impressive fluorescent effect.
The main internal frame of the body is constructed with numerous precision die-cast parts, giving the figure a substantial weight of 460 grams. Incorporating ratchet joints, it achieves both a premium metallic feel and excellent articulation, along with robust joint strength. This allows for dynamic poses such as running, jumping, and high-kneeling firing stances. The articulated jaw further enhances its ability to recreate Unit-01's wild, berserk mode. Additionally, the head features a built-in LED light-up gimmick; a magnet-activated switch, cleverly designed as an Entry Plug, illuminates the eyes with a striking yellow glow.
The Standard Edition comes packed with a variety of interchangeable hands, a Pallet Rifle, two Progressive Knives, the Spear of Cassius, an Entry Plug, Entry Plug removal tweezers, an Umbilical Cable, and a Restraint/Mobile Launch Platform. By opening Unit-01's back armor, the Entry Plug can be inserted. The Restraint/Mobile Launch Platform allows for stable display of Unit-01, and the Umbilical Cable connects the base to Unit-01's back, perfectly recreating its charging state before deployment.
The more luxurious "DX Edition" includes an enormous Hangar accessory. This Hangar features extensive sculpted details, showcasing both its exterior and internal structures. The front section is designed to house Unit-01, with a miniature Gendo Ikari figure visible within the command tower above. The rear section provides storage for all the included weapons and accessories, complete with a cool folding hatch mechanism.
