Japanese toy brand MEDICOM TOY has announced a new action figure, the "ULTIMATE WOODY B&W Ver.," slated for release in November 2026 at a price of JPY 63,800 (tax included).
"Toy Story," the animated film released by Pixar in 1995, features Woody as its iconic cowboy toy protagonist and a central character throughout the entire franchise. In "Toy Story 2," Woody is revealed to be the star doll of a fictional 1950s black-and-white television show called "Woody's Roundup," a retro backstory that adds a unique historical layer to his character. This new B&W Ver. draws inspiration directly from that show, reinterpreting the beloved sheriff in a striking monochromatic palette.
Standing approximately 385mm tall, this figure is sculpted to a life-size scale as seen in the film. PERFECT-STUDIO handled the prototype production, incorporating an internal metal skeleton for support, allowing for a wide range of dynamic poses. A standout feature is the inclusion of an articulated mouth "Woody's Roundup" face plate, designed to replicate Woody's speaking movements from the movie. The eyeballs are also articulated. The figure comes with multiple interchangeable face plates, including smiling and surprised expressions, along with various swappable hand parts – truly fitting for a character known for inspiring so many expressive memes.
